Mexican actress Karla Souza, best known for ABC’s legal drama How to Get Away with Murder and Netflix’s musical comedy Technoboys, is now taking on a darker, more suspenseful role as Lee Reardon in Amazon Prime Video’s upcoming erotic thriller series 56 Days.

The suspenseful crime drama follows a whirlwind romance between two strangers, Oliver and Ciara, that ends in a shocking murder. Fifty‑six days after their fateful meeting, detectives arrive at Oliver’s Dublin apartment to find a brutally slaughtered and decomposed body.

Set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on February 18, 2026, Karla will portray the role of Lee, a homicide investigator trying to uncover the mystery behind the decomposed body.

In addition to her acting profession, Karla is also a married woman. Her husband, Marshall Trenckmann, whose last name is often misspelled as ‘Trenkmann,’ is a famous banker and financier.

Marshall Is A Successful Financier

Karla Souza’s husband, Marshall Trenckmann, is a well-known American banker and finance specialist from Texas, USA. He completed both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Texas A&M University, where he was honored with the prestigious 2003 Gathright Award from the university’s Business School. His name, as an honorary student in Business, even popped up on the Texas A&M Newspaper, The Battalion.

Later, Marshall focused on Spanish and Latin American subjects, further strengthening his expertise in international markets. After graduating from the University in 2004, Marshall joined CIB LATAM in Mexico, as per News AmoMama.

He then returned to Texas and secured a position at the CIB Oil station in Houston. After his tenure with the company, he left the team and relocated to Los Angeles, California.

Following his relocation, he worked for one of the world’s largest banking and financial services firms, J.P Morgan Chase. Later, he became a managing director at this global investment bank.

In 2017, Marshall was appointed as the Executive Director at JPMorgan Chase. According to the contract issued by his firm, he was responsible for overseeing diversified portfolios while managing financial risk exposure for the bank’s clients and operations. It is unclear whether he is still involved with the company.

They Met At A Bible Study

Karla and her husband, Marshall, first met in Mexico City during a Bible study group. At that time, Marshall was working for a service firm called CIB Latam, while Karla was in the country to pursue her acting studies.

Marshall was introduced to Karla through a mutual friend in Mexico City while he was seeking a rental. Opening up about their relationship with the Collective Impact Podcast, he said:

“So I arrived to her house, I knock on the door, she opens the door. I was looking for a place to stay for a couple of weeks. Karla said she don’t usually rent rooms to men, usually it’s doctors that are coming from Latin America. But she’s like, I’ll rent you a room, you know, you seem nice enough.”

The duo attended Bible Study together and soon fell in love. In December 2013, Marshall got down on his knee and proposed to Karla. Shortly after, in May 2014, they got married in a private ceremony at Hotel Hacienda Vista Hermosa in Tequesquitengo, Mexico. Only close friends and family members were invited to the wedding.

For now, the couple prefers to maintain a low profile, avoiding the spotlight and focusing on their respective careers, supporting each other and their family.

Marshall Is Five Years Older Than His Wife

Back in December 2024, Marshall admitted to being 44 years old on his podcast with the Collective Impact. Based on that, he is believed to be in his mid‑forties. Meanwhile, his wife, Karla, was born on December 11, 1985, in Mexico City and is 40 years old. The couple has an age-gap of five years.

Karla spent much of her early childhood in Aspen, Colorado, before relocating to the United States, where she eventually obtained dual Mexican and American citizenship. She began her acting career at a young age, making her first on-screen appearance as a child in the film Aspen Extreme. Later, she pursued a course in acting at the prestigious Centro de Educación Artística (CEA), an institution run by Televisa, a Mexican media conglomerate.

After completing her initial training program, Karla pursued further studies in France with a professional theater company. In 2008, she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in acting.

While in London, she also received the CCP Award. Following this, the Mexican actress pursued further acting work in Moscow, Russia, under the guidance of coach Anatoly Smilianski before returning to Mexico to launch her career.

The Couple Is Family Of Five With Three Kids

Over the years, Karla and her husband, Marshall, have built a loving family together, welcoming three kids. The lovely couple is parents to their two daughters and a son.

Their first child, a daughter named Gianna Trenckmann, was born on April 6, 2018. Two years after their newborn, they welcomed their second child, a son named Luka Trenckman, on June 12, 2020.

Shortly after in 2024, they were blessed with their third child, a baby girl named Giulia. During her third pregnancy, Karla suffered an arduous 33 hours of labor. Sharing the childbirth experience with People.com, she described it as a “marathon.”

Later, in March 2024, she shared the birth announcement of her daughter on Instagram, revealing that her contractions started and stopped multiple times and that neither her doctor nor the epidural arrived until later in the process.

In her announcement, she also thanked her doctor, doula, and especially her husband, Marshall, for his unwavering support throughout the lengthy labor.
